Edu in no way got involved and didn’t close down well either, which was a recipe for disaster.

Comparable to Edu in that the offense didn’t actually flow nicely by way of him, but also failed to track runs including Cazorla on the first objective.

Robbie Rogers𔃂
He was fairly absent, but he did get 1 very good chance, but he pulled it wide.

Juan Agudelo𔃂
He was the most lively attacker for the US running at players, but with out an individual else, he was outnumbered too typically.

Jozy Altidore𔃂
Altidore by no means got considerably service, but he seemed a bit lethargic in his closing down and it created it far too simple for Spain to play out of the back.

He was an upgrade from the first half as he closed down well and had some very good runs from midfield. Despite his lack of playing time at Villa, he looked sharp.

He was playing at a quicker pace than most of the team as he was fast on the ball and generating decisions. The US attack was a lot more crisp when he was on the ball.

Chris Wondolowski𔃂
He was active and tried difficult, but he didn’t get much service to truly judge how powerful he can be.

Alejandro Bedoya𔃂
He was quiet but created a couple nice passes to hold possession, but he did fail to convert a breakaway with a bad touch.

Based on these performances, the beginning lineup I would want the US to use is the following.

The team, nonetheless, will likely use the group stage as a way of tinkering with this lineup as Edu or Jones could have a spot near Bradley and I also think Bedoya could make the group a four-5-1 with either Donovan, Dempsey or Bedoya playing the position underneath the forward.
